Ether, Embers & Everything Between

I’m a former critical care nurse, single mother of three, certified yoga teacher, piercing artist, and a woman still learning how to navigate the twists and turns life inevitably brings.

My mother used to tell me that the only certainty in life is change. I understood the words then, but I could not have known how deeply they would one day ring true.

My path has taken sharp turns down dark roads and carried me through steep climbs that asked more of me than I thought I had to give. I have held the hands of people in their worst moments, witnessed extraordinary miracles, and learned how thin the distance can be between heartbreak and hope. I have brought three incredible humans into this world, sat beside people as they took their final breaths, and supported families as they learned to let go.

Along the way, I have also had to let go of parts of myself—versions of me that could not come forward into the life I was becoming. I have helped my children navigate their own struggles, while we have learned together how to move through the challenges that shaped us as a family.

What I have learned is that my mother was right: change always comes. Sometimes it is devastating, damaging, and cruel. Other times, it is the very thing that gives us perspective. It pulls us out of the small details that weigh us down and reminds us what actually matters: love, connection, resilience, presence, and the courage to begin again.

I know it sounds simple to say we can either drown in what life gives us or rise from it. The reality is much messier, more painful, and more complicated than that. Still, I believe there is something in us that keeps reaching for the surface. Something that searches for meaning, for beauty, for ourselves—even after everything has changed.

That search has taken me down plenty of rabbit holes, through reinvention, grief, curiosity, healing, and the beautiful strangeness of becoming. And somehow, it has led me here.

So, welcome. Consider this an open door into my little menagerie of oddities, treasures, and curious things collected along the way. Each has a story. Each is a reminder that even when your world has burned down to ash, there is often still an ember beneath it—quietly waiting to be tended.

If you are finding your way, too, come sit for a while. Let’s rise from the embers and see what waits for us in the ether of what comes next.
